Kum. Sweta Ravisankar is a dancer with high passion and involvement in Bharat Natyam. Her discipline and dedication worth a mention. She is a recipient of the two year SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP in BHARATHANATYAM by Ministry of Culture, Government of INDIA.
Kum. Sweta Ravisankar has been under the tutelage of Bharata Natyam Guru Smt. Padmini Radhakrishnan of Soundarya Natya Kalalaya, Ghatkopar, Mumbai since 1993.
After Arangetram in January 2001, she has given more than 100 recitals - more than 60 acclaimed solo Bharata Natyam recitals under various prestigious banners in Mumbai, Dombivli, Pune, Satara, Chennai, Pollachi, coimbatore, Guruvayur.
Recognition has come in the form of Awards, Scholarships, Prizes and Titles for Sweta apart from praise from critics and the press.
Legends like Kalaimamani K.J. Sarasa, Padmashri Lalgudi Jayaraman and Dr. M Balamuralikrishna have witnessed her programs in Chennai and blessed her.
Born in 1986, she is a B.Tech graduate in Biotechnology from D.Y.Patil Institute of Biotechnology, Navi Mumbai. She is presently in Chennai from Feb 2009, working for Lifecell International Private Limited, Chennai in their R&D department.
