Sweta Ravisankar's Accomplishments
ACHIEVEMENTS:
15 years of training in this art, has given more than 100 performances – more than 65 solo recitals.
SCHOLARSHIP:
She is a recipient of the two year SCHOLARSHIP in BHARATHANATYAM by Ministry of Culture, Government of INDIA.
NATTUVANGAM:
Kum Sweta Ravisankar has learnt Nattuvangam under her Guru Smt.Padmini Radhakrishnan during the scholarship period. She has supported her Guru on the vocal and Nattuvangam on select occasions.
CHOREOGRAPHY:
Gives various inputs in Choreography for the new.items. She has also the capacity to hone up her skills in inputs in Choreography.
TEACHING:
1. She was in-charge of the Mulund branch of her dance school Soundarya Natya Kalalaya till 2008.
2. She had assisted her Guru Smt.Padmini Radhakrishnan in training young dancers at Ghatkopar and IIT (Powai) in Mumbai as well as in shaping up the junior students’ skill before their Arangetram.
3. She has taken keen interest in the co-ordination of the programmes of the dance school soundarya natya Kalalaya.
OTHER ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
She has passed 'VISHARAD' in Bharata Natyam with distinction, pursuing MFA in Bharata Natyam.
Her name has been enrolled in the South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur (No.4607). Selected by Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka
Manram under the scheme of Promotion of Young Talented Artists in Bharata Natyam and performed in four different organizations (Kartik Fine Arts Chennai , Sri Ragam Fine Arts, Chennai, Hamsadwani, Chennai and Pollachi Tamil Isai Sangam) assigned by the Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Manram in the coming months.(April – June 2008).
